Tie-Dye Basics

The basics are the general step-by-step instructions that you will need to do any tie-dye project, regardless of what you are tie-dyeing (shirts, socks, shorts, dresses, boxers, etc), how many garments, what the designs are or what kind of dye kit you’ll be using. We suggest you read through all of the information completely before beginning any work.

The Supplies page will give you a list of all the things you’re need to gather before you get started.  It includes optional items, that will help you streamline the process or achieve specific patterns, but aren’t 100% required.

The Tips page is a list of helpful hints and guidelines that will also make things go much smoother.

Finally, The Basics are the general instructions that apply to all tie-dye projects, no matter what the garment is or what kind of design you want to create.
